The 14th Conference of the European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation e.V.
HS Ireland was thrilled to participate in the 14th Conference of the European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation e.V. (EHSF2025), which happened 12–14 February 2025) in Vilnius, Lithuania.

We have attended this annual event for several years for the following reasons:
- To try stay up to date about the latest in HS research (an increasingly difficult task, but a most welcome complaint to have)
- To report back the latest advances in HS research to our community of people with HS (pwHS), family, friends, loved ones, etc., an increasingly easy task as there are so many wonderful developments to communicate
- To interact with the many inspiring people responsible for the tremendous advances in the HS space
A few of our highlights from EHSF2025 include,
- The latest from the Global Hidradenitis Suppurativa Atlas (GHiSA; for more on GHiSA, visit here)
- An increasing focus on the systemic nature of HS (ie., how it affects many different bodily systems) and the associated consequences on people with HS
- Colleagues presenting some of our work from the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Core Outcomes Set International Collaboration (HiSTORIC), an ongoing patient–physician collaboration. (For more on HiSTORIC, visit here)
- Existing and emerging therapies for HS; some of the data presented at EHSF2025 are extremely encouraging on how these are benefiting some people with HS
- HS translational research is offering insights into HS pathogenesis, deepening understanding, and revealing new therapeutic opportunities
- The Nurses’ session, which focused on holistic approaches to nursing

HS Ireland was delighted to contribute to EHSF2025: we were co-authors on several poster and oral presentations and also delivered an oral presentation at the Nurses’ session.

It was a pleasure meeting with friends (old and new) and learning from some of those responsible for the many exciting developments around HS in recent years. Their work is making a tremendous impact on many people.
